Viscovery undertook a research with computer science team from University of Rochester led by Dr. Chenliang Xu and made a breakthrough in the field of computer vision AI applying in fashion-related industries.

In the paper, the team introduces a novel method with the use of AI and Deep Learning (GAN) technology to allow fashion to be more consumer-oriented than before. In the future, consumers will be able to define fashion designs in advanced visual search to have easy access to the clothes that they are exactly looking for. For instance, consumers can switch a certain part of clothes to the wanted designs (e.g., round collar to V-collar) in an image during advanced visual search. The technology is believed to create more possibilities of AI application in fashion field.

The paper, titled “TailorGAN: Making User-Defined Fashion Designs”, will be launched in a world-famous computer vision annual conference—WACV (Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision)—in Colorado in March, 2020, and be posted on WACV website, sharing the groundbreaking and innovative technology for both academic and industry field.
